co-life is made by Robert Mataković, a designer and developer in Zagreb. It began as a tool for his own household — two kids, two cats, and more moving parts than a group chat can hold — and it is still what that household opens every morning.
Why it exists
Most household software is built for offices and then softened. But the hard part of running a home together is not task management, it is the remembering: who is free on Thursday, who paid for the shopping, whether anyone booked the boiler service. co-life puts those three things — a calendar, a set of expenses, a set of notes — in one place both people can see, and then gets out of the way.
Who writes the guides
Every guide on this site is written by Robert, from the same household. When a guide says a shared calendar works better with a colour per person, or that a shared spreadsheet rots in about three weeks, that is not research — it is what happened here first. Where something is genuinely a matter of preference, the guides say so rather than pretending there is one right answer.
What it will not do
No ads, no trackers, and nothing sold on. co-life runs on servers in the EU, and you can export everything or delete the whole household whenever you like. It is a small, independent project, and keeping it small is the point.
